I photograph primarily people. Sometimes from afar. Sometimes up close. Often they’re doing something. But sometimes they are looking directly at my camera.
I learned from my time as a newspaper staff photographer (The Seattle Times, The Orange County Register) and as a freelancer how to make people feel at ease in front of the camera.
It is what I am passionate about. Capturing some authenticity of a person in a picture and telling their story. Everyone has dignity too. No matter their line of work or perceived social standing. The pleasure for me is helping that come through in every person, and documenting it.
I grew up in Southern California. And moved to Seattle many years ago for work. I consider myself a proud Pacific Northwesterner now. I live in the city with my wife and our furry companion. I love the trees, the weather (even the rain), and the ethos. I smoke salmon in my backyard year-round. I enjoy local red wine, an occasional Ballard produced Pale Ale and backyard barbeques with good friends.
I am an ego-free professional who gets along with everyone. And I look forward to future collaborations.
